Thank you to everyone that came out for the 4th Hill Topper 5k race in Church Hill. The Church Hill Rotary Club had an absolute blast planning for the race, getting the course set up, and watch you all absolutely have a blast running it. Participation in this race has helped raise thousands of dollars for the Robinson Theater and Rotary's Polio Plus campaign. Plus, more than $250 in additional donations were made by runners to the Robinson Theater. Thank you all for coming out and making this event a great success. Here they are! Our own Michael Kelleher teamed up with Betsy Hart from the Robinson Theater to promote the Hill Topper 5k in an interview with Amy Lacey of 8News. “Walk it, run it, do it for time, do it for whatever reason,” says Michael Kelleher of the Church Hill Rotary Club. “But just know the Robinson Theater is such a worthwhile investment in a project.” Read the full "The Hill Topper 5k returns to Church Hill" article.
We can't tell you how excited we are for the Church Hill Irish Festival to finally arrive. Our volunteers have busted their tails over the past 3 months to bring back the best 5k in Church Hill, the Hill Topper 5k. If you haven't signed up to be a volunteer or runner yet, please do so immediately! You will not regret it. All of this is to benefit the Robinson Theater, a multi-purpose facility that exists to inspire, encourage, and restore healthy community life to the residents of Church Hill through arts, fitness, and nutrition-based programs and events. Needless to say, we cannot wait to see you there on March 26th. Come ready to run at 9am!
On January 16th, our group of Rotarians celebrated Martin Luther King Jr Day by sorting, packing, and boxing meals for Stop Hunger Now (now called Rise Against Hunger). Our team arrived at the warehouse facility ready to go. Our small team of Rotarians, Girl Scouts, and other volunteers managed to pack more than 2500 meals in a few short hours. We had an amazing time with our volunteers. Thank you to everyone that came out to donate your time and money. Thank you to Stop Hunger Now for hosting us. We can't wait to do it again! This evening the Church Hill Rotary Club Sponsorship Committee presented the 1st District Grant to the Robinson Theater. The grant goes towards providing a new movie screen for Robinson, something that is desperately needed and will provide a great resource for the community. It did not take the Robinson long to install the screen and schedule a series of movies for early spring. We're honored to be able to support such a noble cause and excited to see the screen in use at the Robinson Theater. Jim Bynum (below), representing the Rotary District 7600, presented the grant to Penny Guiles, Church Hill Rotary Club President. Todd Waldo (far left) and Betsy Hart (left) accepted the grant from the Church Hill Rotary Club on behalf of the Robinson Theater. Thank you to…
